Twyford Society Connect & Alumni Website
The Twyford Society has been running for just over a decade and includes everybody in the Twyford community from the pupils, alumni, current and past parents to past and present staff and Governors. It enables people to retain a connection to the School and keep in touch with friends and colleagues.
This year we launched the Twyford Society website – Twyford Society Connect. This is your website where you will find information on upcoming events, current updates from the School, a community forum for catching up with old friends, newsletters, highlights from the archives and fundraising opportunities with the School. Twyford Society Connect will be the hub of all our communication.
If you are a current or former pupil, parent, or staff member, we would love to see you. Please click on the highlighted link above to sign up and take a look around.
Alongside the new digital platform, we produce an annual magazine, Twyford Life, this is sent to everyone, and includes news and events which can be shared and celebrated within the community. We also email a termly Alumni Bulletin to help keep you in the loop. These have proved very popular with over 65% of people reading them, so please do make sure your contact details are up to date.
Our Events
We hold a series of events throughout the year ranging from Bob Wickham Society Legacy lunches to Family Golf Days, Twyford Society Talks and Alumni Drinks. Last summer we hosted a very successful 2012 cohort reunion. In the 2023 Summer term we had our first career speed networking morning for the Year 8’s, the Twyford Summer Ball which raised over £40,000 for our new Transformational Bursaries campaign (“The Wickham Foundation”) and a celebratory event at the Grange to mark the 100th Twyford pupil to take part in this world famous Opera Festival.
We are always looking at ways to support and celebrate our Alumni and welcome your ideas. Please get in touch with Fiona Mcintosh, Alumni and Development Manager (and past parent herself!) Twyford Society Connect is a hub for all our alumni.
Join us on Instagram @Twyfordschool as this year we will begin showcasing old Twyfordians and revealing some blasts from the past with the help our Archivist Andrew Keeling.
The Bob Wickham Society
The Bob Wickham Society was set up in 2011 to celebrate the generosity of Headmaster Bob Wickham who, in 1955, transferred the School from his own private ownership into a charitable trust thereby securing the future of Twyford School. The Bob Wickham Society consists of a group of Old Twyfordians, parents, staff and governors who have generously left legacies in their wills to benefit the School. A bi-annual lunch takes place at Twyford for the Bob Wickham Society members.
Members of Twyford Society who wish to do so can also support the School financially by contributing to specific appeals or making regular donations.
