Chinese New Year 08.02.2019

The whole school assembled in the Sports Hall on Monday to enjoy the brilliant Waterside Lion Dancers perform a lion dance to welcome in the Chinese New Year.

The lion symbolises power and wisdom and the dance is performed to bring good fortune, prosperity and chase away evil spirits. Accompanied by 3 musicians on a traditional drum and cymbals the Lion energetically danced his way accompanied to the cheers and noise of the children!

The children were able to say hello to the LIon afterwards and stroke his ears and pull the strings to make his eyes open and close! Thank you to Waterside Dancers. Kung Hei Fat Choi in the Year of the Pig.
